“From my first visit to Preble Street I was struck by how so many people worked together to prepare and serve meals to hundreds of people at a time. Since I am a firm believer in what my wife refers to as ant power — what happens when a lot of people do small things to make a difference — I was sold from the start.”
After retiring, Preble Street Volunteer of the Month Jack Wood was looking for a way to contribute to the community. Jack began volunteering with Preble Street in January 2019 and has since logged over 200 hours preparing meals for neighbors in need!
“Jack is always a calm, kind presence with a great sense of humor,” remark staff. “It’s always grounding to see the familiar faces of long-time volunteers during a time when so much has changed.”
Thanks for making a difference for so many people through the good times and the hard times, Jack!<
