Thanks to your advocacy and love, the City of Portland Planning Board voted to approve the conditional use application for the Preble Street Wellness Shelter last night!
THANK YOU to all who wrote or called in and voiced your support for your neighbors in need! Over 1,000 of you spoke up to ensure that 40 people who have been living outside will have shelter, warmth, safety, hope, and the tools they need to meet their goals. We are so proud to be a part of this community.
Note of clarification on a point addressed at the public hearing: As we have always done, Preble Street will continue to share footage from our security cameras with Portland Police Department on a case-by-case basis upon request. To protect the dignity and privacy of guests, “unfettered” access to footage will not be granted.
